5 things to do in Edinburgh during January
With the festivities coming to an end, the cold weather hitting and uni work starting again, it's no wonder January is a gloomy month.
However, it doesn't have to be!
There are some really great things going on to lure you out of hibernation. Take a look at how you can beat those January blues...
Visit the Giant Lanterns of China
The stunning exhibit at Edinburgh Zoo is on until February so make sure you take time to see them before it ends! Walk through a trail of 450 crafted lanterns and see anything from unicorns to the Loch Ness Monster.
Look up at the Message from the Skies
Throughout January, the words of six international writers will illuminate and animate buildings around the city. All part of the Hogmanay celebrations, they'll show on a range of buildings from 5pm - 10pm every night until 25th January.
Run off those Christmas treats
Yes, it might not sound the most appealing of suggestions after weeks of festivities but it's a great way to give you the boost you need for 2019. There are plenty of scenic runs you can take through Edinburgh, as well as some killer hills to really kick those calf muscles into gear. Fancy something a little closer? Give the various running routes on campus a try.

Start your day right with breakfast in the City
We all know the best way to kick start the day is with a healthy and hearty breakfast. So, why not make the most of all the cafes and restaurants in Edinburgh and search for your favourite? Perfect for catching up with friends, here are some to start you off...Milk, Papii, The City Cafe
Happy January to you all!
