The power of creativity, bringing people together
Manchester has a strong, vibrant and diverse community and its resilience has been tested in the past year. Manchester Metropolitan University and The Union are proud to be part of the city that has responded to violence with love, music and art.
From Friday 12 to Sunday 14 October, The Union will host their first ever Arts Festival, exploring hate crime and inclusivity as two opposing forces and are looking for students to get involved.
We have more in common than we do differences and the Arts Festival 2018 will help bring people together and celebrate this through the arts, including:
- Independent films
- Discussion panels
- Writing and poetry
There are several ways you can get involved:
- Submit your work – contribute your work to the festival and maybe even win £500 cash!
- Volunteer your time – from exhibition curators to event planning, there’s a range of opportunities available
- Share your ideas – if you can think of a way to bring people together, the Arts Festival team would love to hear from you
