Getting around Manchester
With so much to see and do in Manchester, it's best to make the most of the great public transport links.

Easy, fast and FREE. The Metroshuttle is a great service that links you with all the shops, rail stations and businesses in the city centre. There are 3 routes to choose from so hop on and off as you like!
Connecting you with other towns outside the city centre, trams run frequently throughout the day until around 11:30pm. You're able to purchase travel cards for the whole day or just buy single tickets to your destination.
There's an abundance of buses that operate in and outside of Manchester. Stagecoach buses offer a day rider starting from £2 or else First buses connect you with places further out of Manchester for £4.20 for the day.

If you want to explore outside of the city centre, here are the best ways to get there...
Trafford Centre/Chill Factor: Hop on the StageCoach X50 or 250 bus from Piccadilly Gardens.
Old Trafford: On match days you can get a train directly to the ground from Manchester Piccadilly Station or else get the Metrolink to Warwick Road, just a 10-minute walk to the stadium.
Etihad Stadium: You can get a direct tram from any city centre stop to right outside the stadium or it's possible to walk from Manchester Piccadilly which should take you around 20 minutes- just follow the fans!
Heaton Park: There are plenty of bus services that pass the park including 135, 59, 64, 484, 495, 164 and 165. Or get the Metrolink to 'Heaton Park' via the Bury line.
IKEA: Train, tram or bus? Get a train or tram to Aston-under-Lyne or you can get the 216 or 219 bus from the city centre.
