Classic Houmous Recipe

200g chickpeas, drained (reserve 30g of the water)
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. tahini
1 chopped garlic clove
Salt & black pepper to taste


  • Blitz all ingredients together in a food processor to a paste
  • Check seasoning
  • Serve alongside crusty bread, sliced cucumber, carrot, peppers & vegetable crisps

Add a twist by mixing any of these ingredients through just before serving:

  • Juice & zest of a lime and 30g chopped coriander
  • 50ml sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 roasted red peppers, blitzed through a food processor
